At any level, reading Brazilian Portuguese articles makes you speak Portuguese faster
Aside from coming to Brazil and speaking Portuguese every day, reading Brazilian Portuguese is the second-best way to develop a very strong command of Brazilian Portuguese.
It’s all too common.
You study Portuguese diligently. Yet, after a few months — sometimes years — you still can’t seem to understand what people are talking.
Why does it happen?
I talk about the many reasons a lot with my students. And I’ll tell you all about that someday. But now I will sum up all of it in four words for you:
Lack of proper input.
Brazilians speak too fast most of the time. And on TV and other media it gets worse. On top of it, reading materials often sit in either one of two extremes: too easy and thus boring, or too hard hence uninteresting.
There is a gigantic gap in between.
And we are here to bridge that gap.
If you’re a beginner — or an unsure intermediate-level speaker — you’ll benefit a lot from our resources.
Most of it is entirely in Portuguese. We’ve made an effort to put everything in their category (reading, listening…). But there is always some overlap. So, be patient when you find a listening comprehension exercise in the reading section. If you stick with us, you’ll learn a lot.
