Practicing the Future with the Verb Ir
Hi, and welcome to one more exercise. This exercise is good for beginner- and intermediate-level students. In it, you will practice the future using the verb IR in Portuguese.
This is by far the most common form of the future tense in spoken Portuguese. In written Portuguese, people prefer to use the “one-word” future (trarei, farei…). You can find exercises about the simple future here.
The first exercise is simply a drag-and-drop one. You have to drag the second half of the sentences and drop them on the options that most logically complete them. Even though some combinations might work under “funny” circumstances, try to find the ones that most logically complete the sentences.
The second exercise is a bit more demanding. You’ll find the main verb between brackets + the verb IR. In that case, you have to conjugated correctly using the present indicative. Follow the example in case of doubt.
And the system accepts only a perfectly formatted sentence with accent marks and write capitalization. If your computer keyboard doesn’t have the accents, you can use this tool to add to the specific words. Needless to say, it won’t be quite as convenient on mobile as it will be on the desktop.
