Verbs and Their Prepositions – Drag Them
In Portuguese, some verbs pair up with specific prepositions for apparently no reason. But this happens in English, too. (Think of a verb like “make up”.)
In the following exercise, instead of thinking only of the prepositions themselves, you should think of the verbs first.
Drag the appropriate verb to its proper slot. It’s going to be a bit harder than usual – there’s verb-subject agreement to care about –, but think your answers through before answering. Only when you’re sure you’re giving it your best shot should you give the answer.
Make notes on the vocabulary. Those words are pretty common.
